Australia's Minjee Lee won the KPMG Women's PGA Championship in Frisco Texas on Sunday. The victory gives Minjee 11 total wins and 3 Major Championships in her young golf career.

TV really does the LPGA dirty. Frequently, all you get to see is the back nine on Sundays. WE WANT MORE. Though, you realize why they had to do it this week, given some twosomes were taking 3.5 hours to play 9 holes on Saturday. If they allotted the typicall 4.5 hours, the final round tv coverage would end on the 14th hole, haha.

As impressive as Minjee Lee's final round 74 was on Sunday, her 3-under 69 on Saturday may have been even more so. Saturday's conditions were wild. 25 mph winds, gusts up to 35 mph, rock-hard greens and tough pin placements saw only 3 players under par after Saturday. But, the more difficult the conditions, the more better Minjee seems to play. In the end, chanettee wannasaen, Atthaya "Jeeno" Thitikul, Choi Hye-Jin, Angel Yin, and Nelly Korda stood little chance.

It's easy to say this after the fact, but she may have been the betting favorite heading into this week, given she lives about 45 minutes away in Dallas, so she has probably played the course a few times. Whereas, because this is the first LPGA event held at the 2022 Gil Hanse course, she has an advantage. Add in tough winds and young, difficult greens, and you can see the pathway for one of the tour's top ball strikers to break through.

A couple of things:

1 - Minjee's ball striking is incredible.

2 - Minjee has moved up 81 spots in LPGA tour putting stats after moving to a broomstick putter. Now that a player whom lead the LPGA in nearly every ball striking stat in the past 4 years is putting well again, look out.

3 - The name "Field Ranch East at PGA Frisco" is an awful name for a golf course.

4 - Field Ranch Ranch East at PGA Frisco, though it is a Gil Hanse course, looks mid on tv. The waste areas really look terrible. As a rule, I can't stand them. They try to sell them to us as "natural areas," but it seems like an excuses to reduce diesel fuel, irrigation, fertilizer, and labor costs. And, they look like your city's local dump trump cement washout area. I could not loathe them more. All of the time + money they put into this courses, and the waste areas make 30% of the grounds look terrible, in the end.

Minjee Lee is not Min Woo Lee's sister.

Min Woo Lee is Minjee Lee's little brother.

Remember that,
